Why are you doing this to me? A story about in-laws

It was Christmas 2011.

Our third Christmas as a married couple, second Christmas visiting my family together during the holidays.

It was also the year that we decided to never celebrate Christmas with my family again. I’m not going to even give the details for why. I think this picture sums it all up.

Can we please. Go. HOME.

Can we please. Go. HOME. Look at those puppy dog eyes!

=) That is all

** Disclaimer **
It is important for me to mention that this has nothing to do with my parents. I am aware of the stereotype out there that men’s mother-in-laws are horrible, whiny, overbearing, intrusive, etc. However, my mom/his MIL, is nothing of the sort. They get along great and my family welcomed him with open arms. My extended family can just be a handful when they are all together…

Oh, and HIS family? Yea…we stopped going to visit them YEARS ago.

  1. My ex wife DREADED the holidays. I hate visiting relatives. With a passion. All they did was sit and chat and I am lousy at that. Great people and I loved them, but lord, 8 hours of chatting, and it can’t all be done with one visit??? I finally convinced her to go without me….
